Sukhmani is the story of Major Kuldeep Singh who is an officer in the Para Batallion.As fate would have it he loses his wife and daughter to a terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir. Traumatised by the loss he decides to continue with his duty in order to remain sane.
He returns to fighting for his country with a new drive induced by the desire to avenge his family. When he meets Reshma, a woman rejected by society, he makes it his mission too protect her and keep her honour intact. For this he himself faces a social stigma.
The movie shows us that sometimes we have to make choices that are always accepted by society whether we like it or not.
